Michaela
Picking being one of the people promotion team was easily the easiest choice, yet one of the hardest as well. Not only did some of the production depend on our posters to be able to sell out shows, but I needed to be able to prove to my crewmates and friends that I would be able to do the best I could to make our show look the best it could ever be. All those stressful hours of relaying designs to my fellow promotion team budddy (hi, Nicole), checking with our director about drafts, and waiting for Sir’s approval was all worth it when I would see how much everyone enjoyed the final designs.
Michaela, as a character, is enjoyable for me to act. As an older sister, I understand the efforts of trying to look like everything is fine, yet internally screaming at myself. The burnout when trying to juggle school, personal life, and family life, all while trying to control things that I can control can all spiral very quickly out of my grasp. Thanks to Michaela, I’ve sort of accepted that I, as a human being, can be messy. I can be emotional, and most of all, I can lean on my family when it comes to it.
